Startup Weekend began in 2007 in Colorado by Andrew Hyde. He had the crazy idea to build a startup in a weekend. 70 aspiring entrepreneurs who wanted to build a company in 54 hours participated in the first Startup Weekend. Nowadays, Startup Weekend became a global event. More than 3K events have taken place in 150 countries.
My name is John and I am a Computer Science student at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus. I am currently undertaking a summer internship at KoPlac. I will describe my experience at KoPlac from the application process to the structure of the work placement and life in the city of Brno.

KoPlac always supports and hosts notable events. On 25th July took place a well-organized & structured meeting of Brno Business Toast Masters. The topic was Forgive & Forget. Our interns grabbed the chance to participate, to talk public and guess…In the end, the speaker of the day was an IT intern of KoPlac.

Startup Weekend Brno #3 happened on 9th June till 11 June at Newton College in the heart of Brno’s center. At the same time, 16 Startup Weekend events organized across six continents.
The second Startup Europe Week (6th- 10th February) happened in 100 cities, all over Europe. As, in 2016, KoPlac was SEW17 co-organiser and held its own event in Brno, the Czech Republic for the initiative last week. We organized a Warm up for upcoming StartupWeekend Brno#3.
